Serving up a fiesta with food packaging design

Mexicali Fresh, a restaurant known for serving fresh and authentic cali-style Mexican food, approached our design agency to create packaging for their fiesta catering kits. These kits were designed for customers to enjoy a fun and flavourful dining experience at home. The design needed to have a fun look and feel alongside current branding elements.

To begin, we custom-designed typography for the words “fiesta kit” to be prominently displayed on the food packaging box design. The typography was carefully crafted to capture the festive and vibrant essence of the brand. The use of purple and green tones was a nod to Mexicali Fresh’s brand colours, creating a cohesive and recognisable look. To further enhance the Mexican packaging design, we incorporated the client’s circle-style logo as the dot of the “i” in “fiesta kit,” bringing the elements together in a cohesive manner. Our team created a tagline for the packaging to produce an inviting feel. Inspired by the shape of a taco, we applied the tagline on the Cali-mex packaging design, “We put it together. You get together,” in semi-circular directions. This added a playful touch to the catering kit packaging design, while also emphasising the convenience and enjoyment of the fiesta kits. The sides of the packaging were kept minimal, featuring the company details in a clean and modern typeface.

The final result of the catering kit packaging design expertly supports the lively nature of Mexicali Fresh, while simultaneously showcasing the brand’s commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. The packaging radiates a sense of excitement and invites customers to embark on a culinary journey filled with delicious flavours and unforgettable moments.
