Showcasing Auckland to the World
Auckland Tourism approached us for a new website to market the city to the World. Their aim was to depart from their previous out-dated site which only featured limited information. Their aim was to become a hub for all things Auckland, targeted primarily at an international market.
Going forward, they would aim to be the first port of call for information on events, attractions, restaurants, shopping and more. With Auckland Tourism’s wealth of information it was vital for our web developers to lay down a strong foundation for this site, with a logical information architecture. We used beautiful, clean modern graphic design NZ tourists would be attracted to.
Intuitive layouts from Auckland’s most intuitive web developers
The key to the success of this website was an accessibility-first creative strategy and a UX-first approach to design. Our web developers wanted the Auckland Tourism site to be easy to use for anyone, right from the very first point of contact.
We created clear categories, complete with custom icons. Logical and clean layouts with intuitive and easy to use navigation were also essential.
When it came to events, we wanted to provide a simple aesthetic that drives engagement. The events calendar promotes Auckland’s diverse range of events, giving visitors an accessible, visually compelling source for referencing and sharing on social media.
Auckland at your fingertips
Simple, responsive page layouts that look great on any screen size or device were designed to give prominence to the vibrant imagery at the core of Auckland Tourism.
Deals feature clearly and widely throughout the site, integrated seamlessly with rich content relating to online blogs and tourist attractions.
Optimised for the modern audience
Our web developers priority was to ensure an elegant experience for any visitor to the Auckland Tourism site.
The website’s responsive behaviour can see considerable changes between the desktop and mobile versions of any given page. This deliberate shift ensures users have an optimal online journey with respect to the available screen space across different devices.
